"Good Catholic Girls" by shinchansgirl

Fandom: Gundam Wing
Pairings: DuoxRae (a borrowed OC. Read up on Pilot 06 at http://www.fanfiction.net/~asakurarae )
Rating: PG

She wasn't like the other pilots, he noted with interest. For one, they hadn't a clue where she came from. Well, she knew, and it seemed like a few of the ol' Doc five - more commonly referred to as 'the mad five' or 'those old geezer-folk' - had something of an idea. Her body was built in a manner similar to Heero's - hard muscle disguised by a slim physique - with a few more curves.

In all the right places.

She didn't have Heero's detachment from the world, however, nor his playful mannerisms. There were times when she could give Trowa a run for his money in the silent department, but she'd consider it beneath her to let someone - even someone she trusted - throw sharp metal objects at her while she was dressed in a ridiculous suit. Quatre took the blame of everything into himself, while she shoved it out on others when they deserved it. Wufei would spew injustice for hours...while she gave it hardly a half-hour of her time.

She coughed, interrupting his thoughts. "Rae?" he called. "You okay?"

"Sure thing, Duo!" she answered, her voice echoing around the hall from the kitchen. "Just a bit of dust! The pizza's on it's way; give it another hour before you call them back - it is Friday night, remember!"

"Yeah, yeah," he muttered. It was always something like that... 'just a bit of dust,' 'sinuses are acting up today,' 'just a bit of a sniffle, really, nothing serious,' or one of the other myriad of excuses. Rae was always coughing.

A few minutes later she joined Duo on the couch, just before the seven o'clock news started. "So when are the others stopping by?" she asked.

"They aren't,'' he answered with a smile. "Care to make use of the time to ourselves?"

Rae playfully swatted the hand that wandered toward the hem of her shirt. "Good Catholic Girls don't mess with Bad Braided Boys."

"Ah...but you're not a Good Catholic Girl, are you?"

Rae smirked. "I am until after the news and our pizza-and-a-movie. Now be good boy, and maybe you'll get a treat later."

Duo's grin widened.

THE END.
